Japanese Study Tips
- 1
Learn kanji in context through vocabulary rather than studying isolated characters — it improves retention and reading speed.
- 2
Use NHK News Easy as a source for intermediate flashcards — articles use simplified Japanese with furigana.
- 3
Create cards that test recognition (Japanese to English) and production (English to Japanese) separately for stronger recall.
- 4
Group grammar cards by JLPT level and study them alongside corresponding vocabulary for coherent progression.
- 5
Study kanji compounds (熟語) together — learning 生活 and 生命 together reinforces the readings of 生.
