01 / Comparison

Klarrity vs Mochi: Markdown Reviewer vs Card Writer (2026)

Mochi is a well-built place to keep and review cards, on desktop and phone, with a free tier that does not expire. Klarrity is the step before that: reading the page and writing the cards.

Mochi is the better-value reviewer: $0 forever if you type your own cards, $5 a month for sync and a real AI allowance. Klarrity is not competing for that job — it writes the cards from the page, free at 5 a day, $7 a month above. If you already keep cards in Mochi and the typing is what you resent, they pair well; if the typing does not bother you, Mochi alone is the cheaper answer.

03 / Trade-offs

What each one is good at.

Klarrity

In its favour

  • 5 generations a day, free, with no card asked for
  • Reads the page you are on; nothing has to be typed or pasted in
  • Anki .apkg, CSV and clipboard export on the free tier
  • AI generation is the whole product, not an allowance measured in tokens

Against it

  • No review scheduling, so a card app is still needed
  • Chrome only, with no desktop or phone app
  • Quizlet, Notion and Obsidian export are Pro, at $7 a month or $49 a year
  • No offline use — it needs the tab and the network

Mochi

In its favour

  • A free plan printed as $0 forever, with unlimited cards, decks and offline use
  • Pro is $5 a month, the lowest published monthly figure on this site
  • Runs on Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android
  • Import and export are on the free plan as well as Pro

Against it

  • Its AI allowance is measured in tokens — 5,000 free, 500,000 on Pro — rather than in cards
  • No published annual total: the page says yearly billing saves $12 a year without printing the figure
  • It does not read the webpage you are on; cards start in its own editor
  • mochi.cards/pricing does not name which import and export formats it supports
04 / Questions

Questions

What does Mochi cost?
mochi.cards/pricing printed a free plan at $0 forever and Pro at $5 per month when it was read on 2026-09-02. It notes that yearly billing saves $12 a year but does not print the annual total, so this page does not quote one.
Can Klarrity send cards to Mochi?
Mochi lists import and export on both plans but does not name the formats on its pricing page. Klarrity exports CSV and .apkg on the free tier, which is the usual route between card tools — worth confirming on Mochi's side first.
Do I need both?
Only if you want the writing automated and the reviewing polished. Mochi will hold and schedule cards; Klarrity will write them from what you are reading. Either works alone.
How do the free tiers differ in shape?
Mochi's free plan is unlimited on cards and decks but meters AI at 5,000 tokens. Klarrity's free tier meters generations instead: 5 a day, every day, with no card and no token accounting.
Is Klarrity cheaper than Mochi?
No. Mochi Pro is printed at $5 a month; Klarrity Pro is $7 a month or $49 a year. They are also not the same purchase: one buys a reviewer, the other buys card writing.
Does Mochi work offline?
Its pricing page lists unlimited offline usage on the free plan. Klarrity does not work offline — it reads a live tab and calls a model.
